Thought for the day.

What does integrity really mean?
Integrity means following your moral or ethical convictions and doing the right thing in all circumstances, even if no one is watching you. Having integrity means you are true to yourself and would do nothing that demeans or dishonors you. I didn’t get the concept of who God is until I understood for myself what integrity meant for myself. Learning to be a man of integrity is not as easy as you might think. But it is required to understand the promises God made to all of creation. Just a thought. What do you think?

  1. Integrity is a vital component in the Christian walk. Without it, there’s no sense of what the Lord would have us do or avoid doing. And it is what keeps us honest, right down to our hearts, reminding us that the things other might not see, He always does.

  2. I think a lot of Christians would say they have integrity without first really examining their motives and check where their heart is through the Word of God. We have to examine those areas that other people can’t see. Until we call things what they are and see things the way God sees them, we’ll continue to be deceived by our own self-righteousness.

We have to check, Do we have conviction? Do we love what God loves and hate what God hates? Do we base our moral compass on what the world says is right or wrong? Or is it based upon God’s standards? Do we tell little “white lies” thinking they are just little lies so what’s the harm? Do we do what is right even when no one is looking? Do we make ourselves appear to be more than we really are? Do we manipulate other people to get what we want?

Sometimes it’s difficult to see these things in ourselves. But if we want to be a woman/man of integrity. This is a big one–do we keep our word ? Do we engage in gossip?

We must be honest with ourselves about where we are. Being a woman/man of integrity is not only important in the eyes of men, but most importantly, in the eyes of only One who ultimately matters–The Lord God Almighty, Himself!
